The first decade of this century has seen a dramatic shift in attitudes and approach towards transportation, for both people and freight.

Previously, Western European countries turned their back on railways, looking to the car, the lorry and the airplane to provide improved levels of personal mobility and consumer choice.

Now faced with congestion, concerns about the impact of transport on climate change, and often self-defeating road-building, society is now demanding new solutions. Ironically, many of these ‘new’ solutions have involved our rediscovering previously ‘outmoded’ means of transport, particularly the railways. But co-ordinating the various transport modes requires more than just timetables - integration needs to link differing technical, operational and commercial cultures, creating a new sustainable transport infrastructure, involving both public and private sectors.

Recognising the challenge in breaking down traditional single-moded mindsets, 10 years ago we created a new vehicle to drive forward new solutions for freight transport - Intermodality.

Our unique 'house blend' of skills and experience draws on management consultancy, transport planning, property development and logistics - but delivered in a pragmatic and clear style. We have responded to the European Commission's transport policy, in seeking to:

"turn intermodality into reality, shifting the balance between modes, looking beyond the rightful place of each particular mode and securing intermodality”

For more than a decade, we have provided a range of services, a team of specialists, access to a network of supporting professionals, with a ‘can do’ approach to project design, development and delivery.

Our work over the last decade in helping deliver new projects and major breakthroughs has been recognised by UK trade association The Rail Freight Group, whose independent judging panel awarded Intermodality first prize for Service Support Provider of the Year at the 2011 event.

So, whether you are public or private sector, operating or using freight transport - start here...
